Retrospective evaluation of primary anterior teeth injuries and prevalence of sequelae in their successors

Aim: Traumatic dental injuries occur frequently in children. Treatment and follow ups are important to avoid short long term complications. The aim of this study was investigate the prevalence sequelae permanent anterior teeth following trauma their predecessors period 2005 2011. Methods: This performed retrospectively according data from records 79 children (53 boys, 26 girls), who were treated for deciduous tooth trauma. Of affected (186 teeth), 35 (91 teeth, 22 boys and13 girls) available follow-up examination. Kappa coefficient calculated inter-examiner reliability. Descriptive statistics including percentage mean values also calculated. Results: Sequelae detected on 45(49.5%) 91 successors traumatized enamel hypoplasia and/or discoloration observed 14 (31.1%) teeth. Eruption disturbed (31.1%). In 13 (28.9%) crown root malformation, three (6.7%) only one (2.2%) malformation detected. Most frequent sequela after intrusive luxation (33%). Crown-root malformations successor most occurred at age 0 2 (61.53%). Conclusions: Early diagnosis treatment primary routine clinical radiological up would minimize which successors..
